What is a Senior Graduation?
Senior graduation is a special day to many, as it shows how many young adults have made it through a rough and challenging part of their lives in preparing them for the next steps to come. To all the parents, guardians, other family, peers, and friends; the graduation ceremony that is held at the end of the year for the seniors is important to these groups of people as it shows how throughout living with their senior, they have made an impact on their life one way or another. During the graduation ceremony when it comes time for each single student to walk up to the podium to take on their diploma(s), this moment can get very emotional as it’s like a check point in a video game just within a person’s life.
Who Helps Run the Graduation?
Within a senior’s graduation there are many people who help set up the entire event from the time and dates to the building it’s going to be held at, to helping with the tickets and accessories that are used for the graduation. The Principal and the Board of Education are among the people who are essential when it comes to graduation as they help hand the diplomas off to the students when they each walk up to the podium and say their final thank you’s. Many staff and teachers come to the graduation to help with the ceremony as well as say goodbye to the seniors they helped raise and be part of their journey.
What was Huntingtown High School’s Graduation Like for 2024?
The graduation for Huntingtown High School was an amazing day for many and it was all held at “The Showplace Arena” where all the senior graduates, family and friends, orchestra, band, and chorus students gathered to help celebrate and announce that these students are ready to move on through life. The place was gorgeously set up and it was an amazing view as shown in the picture above from where the chorus students were sitting and watching the entire thing. There were many different things going on throughout the entire time. Before the ceremony started and the band, orchestra, and chorus members arrived there were many technicians there helping to get all the equipment set up, making sure that everything would run smoothly and work without problem. The chairs had been set in place long before many “helpers” had arrived and many of the “performers.” Once the few sound tests were run and everything was put in place, family, friends, and the seniors started showing up and finding their places for the ceremony which was to officially start around 7:30pm. During the time there the ceremony took a while as each individual student was given their spotlight and was called up to meet Mrs. Morton, the school’s Principal, who stood with each senior shaking their hand and taking a photo with them as they stood in with their blue gowns. The ceremony went until about nine o’clock until it had finally reached its end and many of the performing students rushed out to go and greet their fellow seniors who had now graduated and left to continue down their own paths. In the end everyone had started to leave as some seniors had plans for the night while many others went home to relax and hang out with their families, feeling freer than ever after the ceremony was complete.
Some Great Sponsors!
A few people who were there and helped move the graduation ceremony along as class sponsors were Mr. Orlandi, Mrs. Sammons, and Mrs. Gray Gray, There were many others who had also came along including the Board of Education to help with this ceremony and hmake it special for the seniors. Thanks to these people this ceremony was able to give the senior graduates the opportunity many had been waiting for since before they had started high school.
