The ongoing conflict has had a significant effect on the lives of young people in the country. Many children and teenagers have been forced to leave their homes, schools, and communities due to the violence and instability. This has resulted in major disruptions to their education and overall well-being. The constant exposure to the horrors of war has also taken a toll on their mental health as well. It’s a challenging situation, but organizations and communities are working hard to provide support and resources to help these young individuals cope with the hardships they face.
A young Ukrainian activist spoke up in an interview about how the Russian Invasion has impacted his life along with many others who face the same hardships. Rostik says, “We live in real wartime in our country. For the first three or two months of the war, everyone was so afraid because of this, and most people always went to the shelters and stayed there during all air raids. But now it has become so usual for most Ukrainian regions.” These conditions are inhumane for people, let alone children, to have to endure. Let’s keep raising awareness and finding ways to support the youth affected by the war in Ukraine.
