Being a teacher is all about helping children learn, contributing to the community, and helping people grow. Documentaries typically do the same thing, they inform people on certain subjects, usually in great detail to help them learn and grow. Teachers show and tell you things to help you learn for hours of the day. Documentaries also show and tell you things to help you learn for hours, although it depends on the documentary. Some documentaries can be under an hour long, while other documentaries can be over three hours long, and sometimes even longer.
There are so many different types of documentaries such as health documentaries, wildlife documentaries, history and so much more. There are so many different types of teachers as well. You have math teachers, biology teachers, history teachers and the list goes on. An interview took place with Mr. John Allen, the journalism teacher at Huntingtown High school. He used to be a documentary filmmaker and has experience in that field. He said that making films helps people in so many ways by teaching them and informing them. He also said that teaching helps people as well, and it does.
Documentaries and teachers are very similar because they both teach the world about a variety of things. They do have their differences, but when it comes down to teaching they both are great ways to learn.
